Cosy Comfortable Room Next to Rijksmuseum
|地址||Jan Luijkenstraat, 1071 CN Amsterdam, 荷兰|
The cosy, wood panelled bedroom is located on the ground floor of the house and features double bed, wardrobe, sink, mirror and writing desk. The rest of the house is shared with the friendly hosts and other guests. The ground floor has a bathroom shared with guests in one other room. There is a microwave and fridge available. Please note that the double bed has to be shared when you are with two guests.
Please note that we have cats and there is a cat smell outside the rooms. Please do not book if you do not like cats.
The house has a relaxed, social atmosphere where guests can share meals and time together with the hosts, Hans and Victoria.
The house is located in the centre of Amsterdam, many of the city’s top attractions are within walking distance, including the beautiful Vondelpark, just 5 minutes’ away.
For an unforgettable adventure, book a room in Hans's house with a bohemian atmosphere. Located in the museum area of Amsterdam's city center, you can not find a better place to stay with an incredible view within a few meters from the Rijks museum.
Hans offers much more than accommodation in a good location; his house is a network to artists and tourists who traveled all over the world, stayed in Hans' house, making for good atmosphere and lots of fun. For Hans, this is not a rental business, but a way of cultural exchange. We are at walking distance from all major attractions in Amsterdam. Further we have a tram stop in front of our house with trams running every 5 minutes through the center.

-central position with very good public transport connection
-indipendence and autonomy
-stale air (over 30° you can't stay there)
-overpriced in my opinion
suitable for young people who can adapt to not perfect situations
The arrival was really well organized and I was recieved well.Clean bathroom, fresh bed & towel, water cooker, tea and dishes in the room. Then I did not meet anyone again the 3 days I stayd in the house.Wifi worked for only two days.Unfortunally the room is not as it looks like on the pictures. Hans as a photographer knows where to put the lights so that the room looks like it does on the fotos. In reality the room is dark with a small light bubble in the middle an neon light over the mirror you also have to put on to se something. The second thing what I did not like is that there is no window you can open so I slept with the open door to the garden (Wich is really nice but not very clean) to get some air in the small room. And Hans this you really have to do something about, I myself have a male cat and sometimes I know that they mark their territorry....but in my stay from the beginning the corner of the bed and my pillow smelled like a cat toilet and this is not acceptable (Also for the price of the room) I had to sleep otherwise round on my sleeping bag with open door so it was more or less supportable. Wash pillows and get some febreeze for the corner of the room. Please change this for the next guests you will recieve.
Really good location. Facilities may not be quite up-to-date - but you already knew that by looking at the pictures, so no surprises there. Well cleaned and great "staff". The cats really want to know their visitors, but I managed to keep them outside (got some protesting meows when I blocked the terrace door only 2 inches open with my bag).
We had a great time in this great city. This clean and historic apartment is fantastically located for both transportation (the bus to the airport is right in front of the house and trams too!) and walking. Our host Damien, was helpful and enthusiastic.
The room we had was clean and comfortable and opened onto a private garden.
We certainly hope to return to Amsterdam, and when we do...we'll stay here. Thanks Damien!
I stayed with Victoria and Daniel; I can honestly say there were no problems at all. I stayed in the bottom room on the right, toilet shared but there was no problem with that as there were no guests staying on the same floor as us. In terms of the cat smell, it's not in your room and I never saw them. Free towels and what not. Best thing is you can smoke in your room! I mean it's cheap and cheerful.
Tieme was prompt and helpful by email, but unfortunately it was Viktoria who was the host in person, and she was rather unfriendly and unhelpful.
The wifi in the building stopped working 2 days into the trip (and for the rest of the 7 day trip) - sadly the wifi was the apartment's best feature.
Cold water taps in the rooms - probably fine if you are visiting in summer - and be prepared for something beyond "the smell of cats"
I think even if the place is "cheap" (£500 for 7 nights is not *that cheap* to be honest) it doesn't mean it has to be dark, smelly and dirty, as with the "living area".
We enjoyed our stay in Amsterdam very much the city was amazing where we stayed was very local to everything we were right in heart of the city, the house it's self was somewhere cosy to stay very spacious for 2 of you have your own bathroom cosy living room to sit and chill and also the bedroom has a door to the garden. I would highly recommend to stay here if looking to stay in Amsterdam as for the price you pay is is very local to city centre and u are in the heart of Van Gogh museum. If we ever went back there would stay at same location in same house. The man when we arrived was very helpful telling us about everything we were well informed about house and city locations. Thanks for great stay and would happily come back. And by the way the cats are not a problem as long as not in your room and the smell is not bad at all.
This was the worst room i've ever seen. The whole house was extrem dirty, the cats were shitting in front of the room every day. It was extrem loud in and outside the house, also during the nights.
The only nice thing to say about it, there was one really nice person, who works with/for the host.
The room itself, was dirty, moldy, and water was dripping from the sealing.
The smell of the whole house was gross.
But at least, it's well located.
nice room near the centre of amsterdam. centre is in walking distance and there is a bus/tram stop right in front of the house. Hans is very friendly.
Hans is a very nice host. He was happy to explain to me everything that was available for the room and gave me some good advice on the city. The room is very comfortable and cozy. The wifi is great (if it is slow, all you have to do is unplug the router in the room and plug it in again). Plus, there is a door out to the garden that is a nice place if you like to smoke.
As mentioned on the description for the room, there is a cat smell in the house, but nothing in the room! The bathroom right outside the door to the room does have a bit of the cat smell, but nothing terrible to deal with. The bathroom is well stocked and clean.
While the house might feel a bit far away from the city center, it is still a great location. There is a tram stop right outside, and the Rijksmuseum and the Van Gogh museum are very close (5-10 min walk)
