We really enjoyed our stay, even though the room was very small. It was crowded for two people. However, the apartment was clean, the price was good, and Mike was a great host - we can certainly recommend this accommodation to those who just need somewhere to sleep.
Room (clean idem for the bathroom) ok for one week holiday apart from the noise of the air conditionning machine of the neighbour. Practical kitchen for preparing the breakfast. Nice area close to Chinatown.
Henry Street lies in the middle of China Town. You get an authentic insight inton the life of the derscendants of the chinese emigrants.
China Town lies not far from the financial destrict, so you can reach it by walking easily. But it is also very easy to use the public traffic system from here.
You can reach every point of NYC from Henry Street within minutes. Our host was friendly and it was possible to reach him every time by telefon which helped us a lot by arriving from JFK airport to Henry Street. Prize was OK. If you do not more than sleeping and taking a shower next morning you are right here- NYC do not sleep so what about expensive luxury. In summary I give 4 of 5 points. I will come back...Peter and Chris
Mike our host met us on our arrival and provided us with the essentials for getting into the city.
His apartment was in the best location for talking a walk by the Hudson or hopping on the subway Uptown
if you want a bed just somewhere to crash after long days threading through the city - Mike's place is it :-)
This room is perfect for 2 people in a nice clean aprtment on the Lower East side. Mike was a nice host who helped out if you had any questions. Would recommend it to everyone.
Mike who lives There was really nice and friendly. The apartment has a good location!
We enjoyed our stay in this shared appartement: kind host, located in a calm safe neighbourhood (in/nearby chinatown), 1min walk from subway station. All in all a good price/quality ratio!
We've stayed at the Henry Street (Manhattan) apartment for 16 days. It's located in a safe neighborhood next to Chinatown. Large supermarket (open till 1 pm) is nearby as well as many (cheap) places to eat. The nearest metrostation is East broadway which is only a thirty seconds walk away.
We (a couple) stayed in the smallest room which is in fact really small. However, it's mainly just for sleeping and storing your stuff and for that it is enough. The bed is of great quality. We've had some problems with air circulation (there is none, because of the close next door building) but the installation of an airco solved this. Bathroom is small as well, but functions great. There's a fridge, tv, microwave-oven etc to be used. Overall great and clean apartment with a very friendly host. Expect the real thing, it's NY and a real NY apartment. Just as advertised. We will recommend this place, especially over all the expensive hotels and gross hostels.
Apartment was perfect. I love the lower East Side. I come again.
