The best experience we've had so far. There are no other words to express our feelings. We felt at home and even more.It was like being invited by friends Ruud is the nicest host we ever had. Friendly, helpful and really fun. We recommend you heavily to stay on his boat.
We are in love with Holland. It's always a pleasure to go there and Leiden is the best place to be if you want to visit around easily( The Hague, Rotterdam and Amsterdam) or go to the beach. Be sure that we will come back with pleasure to visit our friend Ruud. Aurore, Michael & Louise
We really enjoyed our stay on the boat, Esther, who has welcomed us, was really kind and all was really uncomplicated with the organisation around.
We have been surprised and happy about to be so central to all things and
places around. We like to recommend the boat to others visitors.. ;-)
Thank you, Esther and Ruud.
I stayed 3 nights with two girlfriends on the boat. It is just as in the description: Cozy furnished, well located and a really nice place to relax and spend a weekend. The fridge was already equipped and Ruud welcomed us really friendly. However, we were a bit irritated that Ruud showed up every day on the boat at different times to work in his office which has neither a separate entrance nor toilet. This should be stressed in the description. We thought that we rented the whole boat. Therefore, we felt limited our privacy, especially, because he was not very discrete.
We spent 1 week in this beautiful houseboat. The host was very kind and caring, the houseboat is well maintained with nice furniture and great location. 5 minutes walk to the city center. Great tips from the host to where to go and what to do. Thank you so much Ruud for this beautiful holiday. Gabriele & Anna & Ziggy. P.s. we'll definitely coming again.
Our stay on Le Bateau Ivre was wonderful! We met the host, Ruud, who is very friendly and accommodating. The houseboat is very comfortable and clean, with great views of Morschspoort and Windmill de Put. It was really lovely seeing boats cruise by in the morning very peaceful. We definitely recommend staying here as it is so close to transport, shops and many attractions.
Thankyou for the truly wonderful stay, we'd love to come back again!
Very nice and spacious accommodation! Perfect location for a visit to Leiden, Den Haag, Rotterdam and Amsterdam. Very friendly owner.
I was very excited to be staying on a houseboat when visiting friends in Leiden. The boat has very good facilities and Ruud, the owner, was very generous buying in fruit and bread for us. However, Ruud should make it clear on the description of the boat that he has a room on the boat which he works in in the afternoons. As we were under the impression that we were renting the whole boat and the details describe 2 bedrooms we were disappointed that we did not have the boat to ourselves.
Dear Ruud, we´re sorry to answer you so late after our trip and staying on your nice and lovely ´swimming home´, but out work was immediately so much after comming home. We thank you a lot for your kindest help for our stay in leiden and your konfortable breakfast-buying! We slept like kings and enjoyed our staying on bord; we´re all feel pitty, that we´ve not seen each other before going home. Hope you´ve a lot of guests ``on bord`` - who would like to come in future like us. Best wishes and regards from all of us christel and christian and also ralf and sabine, we see us...
What a fantastic place to stay. We had been looking forward to staying on Ruud's houseboat from the first time we saw it on your site and we were not disappointed.
When we arrived we were blown away with the location, just over the canal from the culture museum and the old north gate into the town .
We rang the bell and Ruud came to the door with a great big welcome sign to greet us onto his boat, what a lovely touch.
Ruud is a perfect gentleman and went out of his way to give us advice on how everything operated on the boat and gave us ideas on things to do during our stay.
The boat is so comfortable and peaceful that you just drift away( not literally as the boat is tied up) and chill out completely with a glass of wine on the patio just outside the large veranda windows at the front of the boat.
Over the road there is a very secure car park which charges 10 euros for a 24 hour stay so that was very handy for us. The railway and bus stations are just a 5 minute walk away. We took the train to Rotterdam and had a great day there. You can also go to The Hague and Amsterdam by Train, there is even a bus to and from the Airport at Schipol if you do not want to hire a car.
Ruud provided us with a a starter kit of food ,wine, beer and fruit which was very nice of him. We didnt see Ruud again till the night before we left as we were away most days visiting the great many places you can go to in the area . We would highly recommend visiting the windmills at Kinder-dyke, a UNESCO world heritage site and the town of Delft. Leiden itself is a great place to explore and has an interesting market twice a week when you can sample the many cheeses and other local products of the area.
Cheers Ruud and thank you for giving us a wonderful place to stay with all the comforts of home, we loved it .
