Parking in The Hague is paid almost everywhere. In the street, in front of the house, parking is free from 00.00h until 18.00h. Between 18.00 and 24.00 you have to pay (some 10 euros). For short stays (a few days), the parking meter in front of the house must be used.
For long stays (a month or more) the best thing is to buy a parking permit for one month at Parkeerbeheer Den Haag. This reduces parking costs a lot.
About The Hague: The Hague is a very interesting destination to spend a short stay, or even a holiday, in the Netherlands. In fact it is the second destination after Amsterdam. It's one of the greenest cities in Holland, with many big and interesting parks, musea, lots of places where old and modern architecture meet (looking from the "Plaats" you have an amazing view of the old Parliament Buildings and the spectacular towering new architecture rising behind it), and it is located just on the Dutch seaside with an amazing natural landscape of beaches and dunes.
About the weather. The Hague is a place to be enjoyed with any kind of weather, when the sun shines, its beautiful beaches invite to lay down in its fine sand and to jump in the waves, when it's cloudy or even when it rains, you just prepare your rain suit, take your bike and go for a walk through the dunes and along the beach, to enjoy the spectacular view of the towering skies, chasing clouds, whipping rain, floating seagulls above the North Sea and the dunes, and you will experiment yourself the very landscapes painted by the painters of the The Hague School and that can be admired in the Mesdag Museum in The Hague.
About Public Transport. The Hague has excellent public transport, which brings you in almost no time to Vermeer's Delft, Rembrandt's Leiden, and of course to Amsterdam and Rotterdam.
Being the seat of the Dutch Government and the residence of the Queen of the Netherlands, The Hague boasts one of Europe's oldest and finest governmental building complexes (The Ridderzaal with the Houses of Parliament around it) and the Royal Palaces Noordeinde and Huis ten Bosch.
Just cross the street and take tram line 2 which will bring you in 6 minutes to Grote Markt, which is the very city center.
However, the best way to go around The Hague is by bike. In the apartment there are 2 bikes. More bikes can be rented at The Hague "Hollands Spoor" Station, where for only 7,50 per day you can rent a bike.
Hi, i was unable to turn up as i was ill, with the flu, but i really recommend Felix and Manuela as they are really nice people - clive
I had a great time in barcelona thanks to Felix and Emanuela. Both were very helpful and kind and we had great conversations in the evenings. It was a pleasure to expierence Barcelona this way and i can only highly recommend it.
Really nice bed- and living room! It looks smaller than it is! I really enjoyed my 2weeks in the apartment! Felix and Emanuela are very friendly and helpfully! I had a perfect stay in Barcelona!! Thanks a lot! I can highly recommend it!!
I had a great stay in Barcelona in Felix place.
The flat has everything you need and the view from the balcony is great (5:th floor (3:rd in the local terminology)). I didn't notice any trouble from the neighbours either. The housekeeper came by one day to lead some gas pipes to the flat above, communicating with him went all right, but he does not speak English.
Unfortunately Felix and Emanuela went on vacation to the Netherlands the day I arrived, so I didn't have any opportunity to get to know them much.
Having the whole flat to myself really brought the 'living like a local' concept to another level though. Coming home from the convenience store with some food, unlocking the door and cooking some dinner in a city you only arrived a day earlier is a strange feeling.
As my first time using Wimdu, I will call it an experience.
Felix and his parter Mauela are wonderful persons.
They are humans living the other side of the place where I'm living. We are all humans. They are not different. Of course, they have their own ways. It was good to see their way of life close to them.
I want to recommend any of you to stay at his house.
The only problem is their noisy neighbor. The old lady next to your window is crasy. Arm yourself for her, then you will be o.k.
It was a very nice place to be. Felix and Emanuela are very nice and it was really nice to eat in the evening with them. So i can have a personal look in the living of Barcelona. Felix is a good city Guide :)
The apartment looks good and there is enough place to be, but the most time i wasn`t at home. There are good opportunitys to visit any places in Barcelona. Maybe i come back for one day. Thank you very much :)
I had a very nice time - the appartment is very well situated and Felix and Emanuela are very kind hosts. Thanks for a pleasant stay - anytime again!
a special,with a capital S experience! Thanks.
Manuela and Felix were great hosts, the appartment is just so lovely.
Hope to be there again someday.... thank you so much!
Felix and Emanuela were wonderful hosts! The fact that Felix speaks perfect English was a big help to me. Everything from a wonderful home cooked meal to fashion advice was included. I hope they come to Berlin one day so I can show them around "my town".
